Ruffa Guttierez’s ex-husband, Yilmaz Bektas, confirmed that he will be visiting her in the Philippines soon, as initially revealed by the actress.
In a now-expired Instagram story, the Turkish businessman confirmed reports that he will be coming to the country.
“For public opinion: Regarding the news about me that has been published in the media recently, I would like to say, ‘Yes, these news are true. I will be visiting the Philippines soon,’” said Yilmaz.
Ruffa earlier revealed that he and Yilmaz are staying in touch, sharing that he now provides financial support to their daughters and even said that he wants to marry her again.
“‘Di siya makakahanap ng isang katulad ko, hanap siya ng hanap sa buong mundo, and as a matter of fact, he wanted to propose and get married to me again, and I thought it was a joke,” said Ruffa in an interview with The Philippine STAR when asked why her ex-husband calls her “boss” on social media.
The former beauty queen, however, maintained that she and Yilmaz now have a friendly and supportive relationship, with regular communication and even joking with each other.
Yilmaz also invited Ruffa on a trip across Europe, which she declined. Instead, Yilmaz plans to visit her in the Philippines after 18 years of not seeing each other.
Ruffa clarified that he is not courting her again, but they now have mutual respect and a “best friends” dynamic, which their daughters appreciate and encourage.
The former couple wed in 2003, went their separate ways in 2007, and had their marriage annulled in 2012.
Yimaz had an emotional reunion with their daughters Lorin and Venice in 2022.
