South Korean artist Wheesung, also known by his stage name Realslow, has passed away at the age of 43.
On March 10, Soompi reported that Wheesung’s agency, Tajoy Entertainment, confirmed the news, stating that he was found in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in Seoul at around 6 PM (KST) and was later pronounced dead.
Emergency responders were dispatched following a report from his family, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The police have launched an investigation into the exact cause of death.
In a statement, Tajoy Entertainment expressed their grief over the musician’s sudden passing and asked for respect and privacy for his grieving family.
“The sudden loss has left his family, fellow artists at Tajoy Entertainment, and our entire staff in profound grief,” the company wrote.
“It pains us deeply to deliver this devastating news to the fans who have always supported and loved Wheesung. We ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers so that he may rest peacefully.”
The agency also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified rumors.
Wheesung is known for his songs Insomnia, With Me, Even Thought of Marriage, and Heartsore Story.
