Robi Domingo seeks NBI’s help over netizen’s ‘threatening’ comment against him

Kapamilya TV host Robi Domingo has sought the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cybercrime Division after receiving an alleged threat from a netizen.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, Robi took to Instagram to share photos of his visit to the NBI office.

In his caption, he detailed his learnings from the experience, including the steps in filing a complaint and the importance of documenting online threats.

“ACCOUNTABILITY,” Robi began his post. “I visited the NBI today and met with Chief Bomediano and Atty. Tucay. Thank you for answering all my questions!”

He also reminded the public to be cautious about their online behavior, emphasizing that actions have consequences both on and off the internet.

“Remember, every action has consequences, whether online or offline. Let’s be kind and take responsibility. 👍🏻,” Robi concluded his message.

His visit to the NBI came days after he responded to a netizen’s comment that appeared to threaten him regarding the possible pairing of his close friend, Kathryn Bernardo, with Donny Pangilinan.

The issue arose after ABS-CBN announced the return of Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) for its seventh season, where Robi will serve as a host alongside Melai Cantiveros. Kathryn and Donny, along with Eugene Domingo and former ABS-CBN president Freddie “FMG” Garcia, were introduced as judges.

Following the announcement, Robi shared behind-the-scenes photos from the PGT set, expressing his excitement about being part of the show.

However, one netizen left a comment warning Robi against pairing Kathryn and Donny, threatening that he would be heavily criticized by fans of DonBelle, the love team of Donny with Belle Mariano.

“@iamrobidomingo ay subukan mo lang na i-match si @donny at @bernardokath ready ready and solid supporters ni Belle Mariano na ibash ka mula ulo mo hanggang paa. WAG MO ITOLERATE yung KA LANDIAN ng peste mong kaibigan,” read the online user’s comment.

Robi quickly took notice of the comment and responded, asking if it could be considered a threat and if legal action could be taken.

“Can I consider this as a threat? Can I take legal actions against this? I don’t tolerate this behavior,” he replied.
