Tom Holland and Zendaya are now engaged – report

Hollywood’s reel-to-real couple, Zendaya and Tom Holland, are reportedly engaged.

A source close to the pair confirmed the news to American entertainment news outlet PEOPLE, following an initial report by TMZ.

According to PEOPLE, Holland proposed to Zendaya during the holiday season at one of her family’s homes.

A separate source of PEOPLE revealed that “everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening — just not when” noting that Tom had been planning to propose to Zendaya “for a while.”

“He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,” PEOPLE quoted the source, adding that the actor had already shared the happy news with friends around New Year’s.

“He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,” the source described their relationship. “Tom’s always had this sweet way of letting the world know that Zendaya is his. Now, it’s official — she really is!”

As for tying the knot, the news source reported that the couple are “not in a rush for a wedding” as they are currently “both busy with work projects”.

Tom appeared to hint at his plans to pop the question during the holidays when he previously shared that he would be spending Christmas with his Zendaya and her family during an episode of the Dish podcast.

Furthermore, this comes after Zendaya, who attended the 2025 Golden Globes Awards on the weekend, fueled engagement rumors when she was spotted wearing a stunning diamond ring on her left hand. The ring, which PEOPLE identified as a 5.02-carat East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring from Jessica McCormack, is listed in the brand’s engagement collection.

Zendaya and Holland’s romance blossomed after years of friendship when they met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, where they play as Peter Parker and MJ respectively and maintained close for years.

However, fans speculated otherwise, and their relationship was confirmed in 2021 after they were spotted sharing a kiss in Los Angeles. The pair became Instagram official in September 2021 when Tom posted a birthday tribute to Zendaya, referring to her as “my MJ.”
