Charo Santos-Concio takes on new role as Philippine Air Force reservist

Veteran actress and television executive Charo Santos-Concio proudly announced that she is now a reservist of the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

On Saturday, the 68-year-old actress proudly shared snapshots from her graduation ceremony, where she donned her military uniform and received her certificate of completion alongside fellow reservist graduates.

In an Instagram post, Santos-Concio expressed her excitement and sense of accomplishment.

“Ako po si Charo, isa nang ganap na Philippine Air Force (PAF) Reservist!” she wrote in the caption.

For the Batang Quiapo actress, completing the short-term military training course represented a personal achievement that allowed her to embrace new challenges.

“It’s never too late to start something new, to challenge yourself, and to keep on growing. Today marks my graduation from the PAF Reservist training—a journey that was as rewarding as it was challenging,” she wrote.

She admitted there were moments of self-doubt during the rigorous training but emphasized the fulfillment she gained from persevering through the obstacles.

“There were moments when I doubted myself, wondering if I could meet the demands, but I embraced every challenge, pushed forward, and found joy in each step of the process,” she shared.

Santos-Concio also reflected on the deeper lessons she learned during her time with the PAF, writing, “Through this experience, I have discovered a deeper sense of purpose and a renewed love for our country.”

She added that being part of the military training alongside her fellow reservists was a great honor, and she hopes her story will inspire others to pursue their passions regardless of age or stage in life.

“Spending these past few weeks alongside my fellow reservists has been an honor, and I hope my story encourages you to pursue your passions, face your fears, and keep moving forward. No matter where you are in life, know that growth is always possible,” she added.

In closing, the former ABS-CBN executive thanked those who supported her throughout her training journey, including 1st ARCEN (Air Reserve Command) and Col. Florante Baterina.

“Special thanks to 1st ARCEN and Col. Florante Baterina for your leadership and guidance throughout this journey. Maraming salamat sa inyong suporta at tiwala,” she concluded her post.
