TV personality Melai Cantiveros recently shared a funny and unforgettable experience from her younger years, revealing how she once thought she was pregnant after a simple kiss.
In an episode of her YouTube talk show Kuan on One, Melai recounted a story about a former suitor during her college days.
“Actually, may nanligaw sa akin dati, yung classmate ko… Ang barkada niya at ang barkada ko, nag-kuan kami. Nagjowaan,” she began.
The comedienne recalled how one day, her suitor invited their groups to the beach, where they paired up with their respective crushes.
“Dinala niya kami sa dagat tapos tig-isa kami ng cottage. Mga fourth year college yung mga ka-love team namin, kami naman ay first year college,” she recounted the events.
Melai then shared the moment that led to her funny misunderstanding,”Hinalikan niya ako […] ‘Hala! Hindi ako makagalaw.’ First time ko mag-kiss… Tapos pag ganito ko, na-ano ko ang laway niya at nalunok ko.”
“[Sabi ko], ‘Buntis na ako.’ […] Akala ko buntis na ako,” she added with a laugh, “Pagkatapos nu’n, lagi na akong gumaganun sa tiyan ko, ’Kailan kaya ‘to? Lord, patawarin mo ako.’”
Due to the uncertainty, Melai eventually told her mother about the incident.
“Grabe ang iniyak ko sa mama ko, akala niya kung napano ako,” the host described the moment she told her mom about being pregnant.
Her mother was shocked, asking, “Ha!?’ ‘Anong nangyari sa’yo?”
To which Melai responded, “Nag-lips to lips kami.”
“Akala ko kasi nun… huli ko nang nalaman na hindi naman pala yun delikado,” pahayag pa nito,” Melai said, laughing at her past naivety.
Melai is now married to her fellow Pinoy Big Brother alum Jason Francisco whom she has two daughters.
