Bongbong Marcos ‘surprised’ by popular ’80s band Duran Duran on birthday

President Bongbong Marcos reportedly received a surprise birthday party at a hotel in Pasay City, where entertainment was courtesy of the ’80s English pop rock band Duran Duran.

On Saturday, the President Communications Office (PCO) released a statement saying that the President enjoyed Duran Duran’s music at the surprise birthday party organized by his friends.

“After a tiring day filled with official engagements, he attended a party thrown by his old friends at a hotel in Pasay, and to his surprise and appreciation, music was provided by Duran Duran,” read PCO’s statement.

Popular during 80’s, Duran Duran is known for their songs such as “Hungry Like The Wolf,” “Rio,” and “Girls on Film.”

The President attended the said birthday bash after celebrating his birthday “with his signature compassion for the needy and the sick, and his deep appreciation for the farmers who feed the nation.”

PCO’s statement came after political blogger Sassa Sassot’s allegations that Duran Duran was flown into the country for a “very private” concert for the president’s birthday.
