This was AJ Raval’s candid response when she was asked how she would react if her boyfriend Aljur Abrenica were to repeat the mistakes her father, Jeric Raval, made in his past relationships.
The interview, which was part of Julius Babao’s vlog, showcased the close bond between AJ and her father, as well as her honest approach to relationships.
It is worth noting that Babao previously conducted an exclusive YouTube interview with the veteran actor where Jeric discussed his past as a womanizer. This prompted a question to AJ about her reaction if Aljur were to replicate Jeric’s past behavior.
“Pa’no kung si Aljur eh ganun din ang gawin? Sa ginawa ng tatay mo?” Julius asked AJ.
In a light-hearted moment, AJ initially passed the question to her father, when Babao asked, “Pa’no kung ganun si Aljur?”
Jeric weighed in on his daughter’s question, explaining that he values responsibility in a man for his daughter.
“Kaya ko naman nagustuhan yung tao na yun dahil, ako kasi ang tinitignan ko sa lalaki para sa anak ko, yung pagiging responsable,” Jeric described his ideal partner for his daughter.
“Kasi maraming lalake ang naging babaero na inabandona na ‘yung pamilya eh. Meron naman akong mga kakilala na babaero rin, pero napakabait,” he added.
Julius diverted back the question to the actress, pressing, “’Di, pero pa’no nga kung biglang nabalitaan mo si Aljur, may ano[?]”
“Siguro kung dumating sa point na ganun, siguro sisisihin ko yung sarili ko,” AJ admitted, reflecting on how she would handle such a situation.
“Syempre… Kung naging maayos ba akong partner, naging ano ba ko, nagger, nasuportahan ko ba siya [n]ung time na down siya?”
Despite her introspective response, AJ expressed confidence in her relationship with Aljur, saying, “Pero ngayon, confident ako na hindi niya gagawin sakin yun, kasi maganda yung dynamics namin ngayon eh.”
AJ noted that Aljur has learned from his past mistakes, emphasizing that their relationship is strong and built on mutual understanding.
“Galing na siya sa pagkakamali. Sinasabi niya, natuto na siya,” assured AJ.
Aljur tied the knot with Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla in 2018 but went their separate ways in 2021. They are co-parenting their sons Alas and Axl.
When asked what advice Jeric would give his child, he said, “Huwag mong hayaang manalo ‘yung kerida, parang ganun. [Kasi] parang pinamigay mo na.”
Before entering show business, Jeric was already married to his wife Holiday Buensuceso and had four children with her. He also had three children with former actress Monica Herrera and additional children with former sexy star Alyssa Alvarez.
