Kapamilya reel couple Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino have confirmed that they will be pairing up once again for a new romantic-comedy film titled “My Love Will Make You Disappear.”
The announcement was made during the Monday episode of “It’s Showtime,” where the two actors expressed their excitement about the upcoming project.
The film will be directed by Chad Vidanes, who shared his enthusiasm for bringing back the classic rom-com genre that has been missed by many fans.
“”Siyempre, na-miss natin ‘yung pelikulang rom-com, siyempre mula sa Star Cinema. Pre-pandemic pa ata nung nagkaroon tayo ng true blue rom-com from Star Cinema. Kaya ngayong taon, magiging part tayo [nito] na nakaka-excite dahil sa inyo,” Vidanes said.
The director also mentioned that the film will explore “how the magic of love can make things go wild and fun.”
The concept, originally created by Prime Cruz, will be written by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio. Vidanes described it as a “classic rom-com” with a fresh and unique twist, promising surprises for the audience.
“Dahil nasa new era na ang Star Cinema sa paggawa ng pelikula, asahan niyo na marami kaming sorpresa sa project na ‘to.”
This marks the second time that Chiu and Avelino will be working together, following their hit 2023 romance-thriller series “Linlang,” alongside JM de Guzman.
The duo also starred in the local adaptation of the popular K-drama series “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” earlier this year.
