“Whatever you saw, that’s the heart he has.”
Actress Julia Baretto is one proud girlfriend to actor Gerald Anderson for his bravery and compassion during the onslaught of Typhoon Carina.
In an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Marfori during a contract signing event in Quezon City on August 5, Julia shared her thoughts about Gerald’s act of kindness during the recent typhoon in the country.
“It’s a proud moment, of course, but I was really worried. [But] by nature that’s who he is as a person ever since, of course, I was really, really worried [about Gerald],” Julia told the press.
She reiterated her worry for her partner in a separate statement saying, “I just really hoped that he would be safe while doing that for others. But, syempre, more than that, it’s a proud moment pero ang hirap kasi grabe ’yong worries ko din noon.”
“That’s his heart. Whatever you saw, that’s the heart he has,” Julia described her beau.
Gerald became a trend on social media amid the heavy rains and floods brought on by Typhoon Carina. Photos and videos of the Kapamilya actor circulated online capturing him braving the floodwaters to rescue citizens trapped in their homes.
Anderson, who’s an auxiliary lieutenant commander of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Auxiliary K9 Squadron, has previously made similar efforts when such disaster strikes.
