‘Patawad, anak’: Angelica Yulo says sorry to son Carlos, hopes to mend family ties

Carlos Yulo’s mom, Angelica, has apologized to her Olympian gymnast son after their publicized rift amid the latter’s historic win in the Paris Olympics 2024.

On Wednesday, the Yulo matriarch decided to hold a press conference as the controversy involving her, Carlos, and his girlfriend Chloe San Jose has already reached an “alarming” state since it has gone public.

Angelica, who said that their family affairs are meant to be kept away from the public eye and settled privately, spoke up after Carlos addressed the issues in TikTok video with Chloe and asked his mom to “heal” and “move on.”

The younger Yulo also stressed in the said video that he has long forgiven his mom.

In a letter she read in front of press members, Angelica became emotional as she apologized to Yulo for criticizing his girlfriend.

Angelica told Carlos that he’s welcome to come home anytime he wishes to and hoped things will be ironed out between them.

Angelica also offered her apologies for the things she said in her previous media interviews where she admitted that her strained ties with Carlos stemmed from Chloe.

Patawad, anak,”stated Angelica.

She went on to ask the public to stop from making their family conflict a big deal and celebrate Carlos’ triumph instead.

Angelica then sent her well-wishes to her son: “Caloy, congratulations sa iyong tagumpay. Mahal kita, mahal ka naming lahat.”
