“As long as I’m happy.”
Actress Arci Muñoz addressed the criticisms surrounding her K-pop obsession, particularly BTS, as she talked about her bashers.
In an interview with the “King of Talk” Boy Abunda in his show “Fast Talk,” the host asked Arci regarding an incident where the actress got a lot of hate from ARMYs, BTS fans, for to being apparently a “favored fangirl.”
“During that time, they’re my source of happiness. […] Basta as long as I’m happy,” Arci explained her initial addiction with the group.
Arci furthered by saying that fans and netizens would hate just because, also likely due to the fact that you could not live up to the image of you that they have in their minds.
“It’s strange that people—, of course they’re gonna talk kung anong gusto nilang sabihin. They already have a perception of you in their heads. So kung hindi mo ma-achieve yun sa naiisip nila, may issue ka,” the actress remarked about the haters.
Determined not to be moved by the bashing, Arci said, “I’m not gonna let those words make me crumble.”
“I know myself more than anyone else,” the actress concluded, unfazed.
Her controversy last 2020 is due to her “sasaeng” comments on Instagram, where she would be seen and heard using the word to describe herself.
Fans found it inherently disturbing as the word has negative connotations and basically means an obsessive fan that oversteps boundaries and does extreme measures to try and get into their idol’s lives.
Despite that, the actress continues to support BTS.
She also said happily that she is in fact excited with the post-military reunion of her beloved KPOP group, BTS, this coming 2025.
