Queenie Padilla and Pakistani husband part ways

Queenie Padilla has announced her separation from her non-showbiz Pakistani husband Usama Amir after 11 years of marriage.

Queenie, whose Muslim name is Mashel Khadija Mir, is the eldest daughter of Senator Robin Padilla and his ex-wife Liezl Sicangco.

The announcement was made on her Instagram post on Wednesday, May 14, where she posted a photo message explaining the situation.

“Assalamualaikum, after much thought and consideration my husband and I have decided to seperate (separate) due to irreconcilable incompatibility,” Queen wrote.

The former actress further explained that both of them have been trying to fix their relationship issues but ended up deciding that a reconciliation was no longer possible.

“This decision wasn’t taken overnight it has been years and months of trying to work things out,” she shared.

According to Queenie, her love and respect will remain for the father of their only daughter.

“He’s a great father and responsible human being. Although life has taken us on different paths right now, I will forever cherish the 11 years we’ve had together,” she expressed.

She thanked those who gave her support and requested the public to give her privacy while currently going through this challenging time.

“Thank you for all your support over the years. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time,” Queenie concluded her message.

In a separate post, Queenie declared that she would be taking a break from engaging in social media following the announcement of their separation.

“Thank you for all your prayers and support. Jazak’Allahu Khair. I will be going offline starting tomorrow,” she wrote.

Queenie confirmed her marriage to Usama with PEP in June 2015, revealing further that they have been married since September 2012.
