Actor Elijah Canlas left a short but sweet message for his ex-girlfriend Miles Ocampo’s birthday.
Miles recently celebrated her 27th birthday last Wednesday, May 1, as seen in photos shared by her close friend Alora Sasam.
Her former beau, Elijah, also took to social media to convey his birthday message for the actress, showing their amicable relationship months after their split.
“[T]hank you for regularly making all of us smile one way or another, birthday girl. you are always loved,” the Senior High actor wrote in the caption of his Instagram story, accompanied by a photo of them together.
His post also came with the 1976 Paul Mccartney song, “She’s My Baby,” and photos from the 1994 Wong Kar Wai film, “Chungking Express,” referencing a famous scene from the movie.
The movie reference involves a male character who buys an expired can of pineapples on his birthday on May 1st, same as Miles, and swears that upon reaching 30 cans and his ex-partner has not yet reconciled with him, it only means that their love has already “expired.”
The ex-couple ignited rumors of rekindling their romance last March after being seen and snapping cozy photos together on multiple occasions.
Miles and Elijah were together for more than two years before they called it quits in November 2023.
