Local business owners, netizens donate cash to man who fell for April Fools’ Day prank

In a heartwarming turn of events, several netizens and local brands have stepped forward to support the man who fell victim to a tattoo prank led by a Pinoy takoyaki store on April Fools’ Day.

The challenge in question originated from a local food business named “Taragis,” which had promised prize money of P100,000 to anyone bold enough to tattoo their logo on their forehead.

However, what seemed like a lighthearted prank quickly took a serious turn when a man, identified as Ramil Albano, took the challenge seriously and got the logo tattooed on his forehead.

In response to the uproar caused by Albano’s participation in the challenge in hopes of winning the monetary reward, Taragis issued a now-deleted Facebook post clarifying that their tattoo challenge was indeed just a prank for April Fools’ Day.

The revelation sparked criticism from many netizens, who argued that the Takoyaki store should be held accountable for the consequences of their prank.

Amidst the backlash, the online community poured support for Albano, transforming his unfortunate experience into a show of solidarity and empathy.

One of the official donators who stepped up after the issue broke out was a local mozzarella food stand, Chizmozza, which offered to give P10,000 to Ramil on behalf of the company that pranked him.

The cheese food business also claimed that the man had already reached out to them to claim his “prize”.

Another cosmetic brand, “Project Glow Up” awarded the man, a generous sum of P100,000 for his dedication in participating in the ill-fated challenge.

“To Sir Ramil Albano, this is not an April Fools’ prank. We will be giving you P100,000 for being dedicated in taking up the challenge full-heartedly! You are the winner for us!”, Project Glow Up wrote in their post, expressing their admiration for Albano’s commitment.

Other local business owners also followed suit in acts of generosity and pledged to contribute monetary assistance and even in-kind tattoo removal sessions to the prank’s victim.

As of writing, Taragis has yet to release its statement addressing the issue aside from its recently removed post.
