A circulating video on social media captured Julia Baretto and Bea Alonzo hugging, exchanging kisses, and engaging in what appeared to be a friendly conversation.
The two were spotted at the tribute party for Johnny Manahan, famously known as Mr. M, who served as the head of Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent arm for several years.
Numerous celebrities graced the star-studded, occasion, including Kathryn Bernardo, Donny Pangilinan, Dimples Romana, Luis Manzano, John Lloyd Cruz, Heart Evangelista, Kristine Hermosa, Sam Milby, and Claudine Barretto, as seen in actress-media executive Charo Santos-Concio’s Instagram post.
One of the highlights of the evening was the reunion of the two female stars, marking their first public interaction after being embroiled in controversy in the past due to their involvement with actor Gerald Anderson.
Bea and Gerald were previously in a relationship, which ended in separation in 2019.
Following the end of Gerald and Bea’s relationship, public attention swiftly shifted to Julia as she was pointed out to be the third party in the ex-couple’s breakup.
Julia’s close relationship with Gerald was also cited as the reason for the actress’s breakup with her former boyfriend, Joshua Garcia.
In an Instagram post in August 2019, Julia boldly named Bea and confronted the actress for allegedly targeting her in her social media post.
Aside from Bea’s cryptic posts, netizens noticed Bea liking posts or news online insinuating an affair between Julia and Gerald.
Two years later, Gerald confirmed in an interview with Boy Abunda that Julia was indeed his girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Bea found new love in the arms of actor Dominic Roque, which unfortunately found its end as they confirmed their split on February 11, 2024 after announcing their engagement last year.
However, speculation arose recently suggesting that the two have reconciled after Bea was seen wearing the engagement ring given to her by Dominic.
