This is how a secondhand car paves way for a millennial to find the love of her life

Netizens were amazed on the journey of these two millennials after they found love in the most unexpected way!

32-year-old Joey Arevalo met her now boyfriend, Aerron Javier, through a dating app in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Bumble kami nag-meet, or nag-match. Parang na-bore ako so, dinelete ko rin ‘yung app. Tapos minessage ko siya, if he still likes to talk pwede naman sa Instagram,”  Arevalo told The Philippine STAR.

“Pinost ko lang sa story ko na for sale ‘yung car tapos nagreply siya na parang…eh kasi malayo din kami so hindi rin kami makapag-set ng time or date kung kailan niya matitignan ‘yung kotse,” she added.

The couple clarified that they didn’t click right away on the said online app. They first met through a “business meeting.”

Javier currently works in the car buy and sell industry, that’s why he immediately arranged a meet up to check the car. From Cavite, he travelled all the way to Fairview, Quezon City in May 2021.

“Napag-usapan lang namin na magkita, che-check ko ‘yung kotse niya. Dun nag-start. Hindi siya parang plinano ko na ‘Uy, parang package ‘to na pwede ko siyang makita tapos pwede ko rin bilhin ‘yung kotse.’  ‘Yung naiisip ko, more on business side talaga. Business meeting lang talaga siya. Walang hidden agenda or what kasi hindi naman kami constantly nag-uusap sa social media,” Javier shared.

“Wala kaming balak na mag-meet talaga. Kung hindi sa kotse hindi kami magkikita in person,” he stressed.

Since at that time, further restrictions were in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic, their first meeting was simple.

“Nagkita kami sa mall just sa parking lot. Then, nag-takeout lang ng food tapos parang pinakita ko na sakan’ya ‘yung kotse. Sa kotse rin kami nag-usap,” said Arevalo.

They both clarified that they did not have any expectations during their first meeting. But were happy to get to know each other.

“Ako ‘yung feeling ko casual lang nung una. Para kasi kaming matagal nang magkakilala nung first meeting namin so hindi rin awkward or something. Parang magaan na agad ‘yung loob ko sa kanya. Mas cute siya in person kesa sa picture. So, nagulat ako,” Arevalo recalled.

“First meeting, okay naman. Ako kasi ‘yung pag na meet mo, maulit, ganyan, jolly. Tapos parang ‘yung na-feel ko sakan’ya parang nag-click, nag-click kami,” Javier echoed.

After quite some time, their relationship became official in December 2021.

Javier also helped Arevalo to find the perfect buyer for her secondhand car.

“Ang corny pero para siyang naging way kasi ‘yun diba, so, I’m happy na we were able to meet during that time. Hindi naman ako naka-premium, and randomly just swiping. Nakalimutan ko i-adjust ‘yung radius, diba may radius ‘yun. So nakalimutan ko lang kasi hindi naman ako ‘yung parang eager to meet someone,” Arevalo noted.

Adding, “I wasn’t looking for love that time, pero parang it came to me.  ‘Yung family and friends very supportive and na happy rin for me.”

Javier and Arevalo’s love story proves that love works in mysterious ways!

“Parang nakakatuwa lang na magaan lang naman kasi ‘yung nangyari so, masaya. Hindi siya pinilit, hindi siya, like parang hindi mo naman ine-expect,” Javier said.

“Hindi ko inexpect na sa dating app ko ma-me-meet ‘yung person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. Very unexpected,” Arevalo added.

The couple also has a message to individuals who are currently looking for love.

“Don’t go looking for love. Love will always find you, if it’s meant to be, it will be,  You don’t have to force something or someone to your life. God will make a way to align everything. Wala rin namang tamang tao. You just have to make it work together kasi. Wala namang perfect person or perfect relationships parang kayong dalawa ‘yung gagawa nun to make it work. And love has no age, no time,” Arevalo stressed.

“Wala kasing tamang words para sa paghahanap ng tamang tao. Siguro tamang time and basta ‘wag kayong magmadali,” added Javier.
