Kyla bares fifth miscarriage, says ‘sorry’ to only son Toby

Kyla turned emotional as she apologized to her unico hijo with former basketball player husband Rich Alvarez, for not being able to give him a sibling.

The R&B singer was recently asked about the challenge she and her husband face, revealing that she suffered her fifth miscarriage before Christmas last year.

“For me, for us, yung biggest challenge would be giving Toby a sibling. We’ve been struggling for years and years and years,” Kyla shared in an interview with Magandang Buhay.

“It’s been really hard, especially, very recent lang yung sa amin eh. Just before Christmas, actually, I suffered another one. So yun yung biggest challenge,” she added.

Kyla previously shared her heartbreak over losing her pregnancy twice in 2018, having her third miscarriage in 2021 and another in the year after.

Kyla, nevertheless, said she remains thankful despite going through a difficult time after having a miscarriage after another.

“I’m just also very grateful and thankful kasi at least nabigyan kami ng isa. Kyla said, referring to their 10-year-old child Toby.

“And kung madadagdagan pa, bonus na lang yun,” she added.

Kyla also expressed how she is grateful to have her supportive husband by her side all throughout their 12-years of marriage.

“Kasi I don’t think anyone would love me like the way he loves me or ever will love me. Parang feeling ko, mahirap kasi akong mahalin,” Kyla said, getting emotional.

“Siya lang talaga yung magmamahal sa akin ng ganito. So I’m just really thankful,” she added.

The doting mother also expressed how they are grateful to be blessed with their “greatest gift” — their son Toby, although she feels sorry that they couldn’t grant his wish to have a sibling yet.

“We just feel so lucky and blessed that we have you, anak. You are an amazing kid. Whether or not magkakaroon ka ng sibling, sorry but we couldn’t give it to you. But I love you so much,” Kyla addressed their son Toby in a heartfelt message.

“And now, you have all our attention and I promise that we will be here for you hanggang sa magka-anak ka. We’ll be here for you to guide you and love you and hust cherish every moment with you anak.
