“Wag niyo pong gawing normal ang pamimirata ng mga palabas.”
“Linlang” star Paulo Avelino took the opportunity to speak out about piracy in his recent interaction with a netizen online.
It all started when he reposted the X post of his on-screen partner Kim Chiu where the latter celebrated their over a million views on one of their promotional videos for their upcoming local adaptation series “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” on Viu Philippines’ TikTok page.
? 2M views in less than 24hours boss @mepauloavelino paano ba yan? I think ikaw naman ang sumayaw sa next tiktok ako naman ang mag chips! ? deal??? #WWWSK this march 2024 only on @Viu_PH https://t.co/qdDq4PNXIE

The actress challenged her co-star to lead the dance challenge next time, delighting their fans.
To this, Paulo responded in his repost writing, “Kung walang pirata na lumabas ng WWWSK pag labas sa @Viu_PH. Kung meron kahit isa… Pass na ako. ?”
His remark gained mixed reactions from fans and X users, with some voicing their support for the actor’s concern against piracy while others seemed to take comfort in the unlikelihood of illegal distribution of shows and movies not happening.
However, Paulo remained firm about his sentiment against piracy as he responded to one user’s comment saying preventing piracy is “impossible”.
“Hahaha ? imposible yan ? @mepauloavelino,” the netizen wrote.
Paulo replied, “Bakit naman po imposible? Industriya po namin ang nalulugi sa pamimirata ng mga tv show o pelikula.”
He went on to speak out about its effects on those working under the industry, saying, “Hindi lang po kabuhayan namin ang apektado kundi pati narin ang kabuhayan ng lahat ng taong nag ta-trabaho sa likod ng camera. Hindi niyo sila nakikita o kilala pero apektado rin sila.
“Wag niyo pong gawing normal ang pamimirata ng mga palabas,” he concluded his message.
