Carlo Aquino considers marrying girlfriend Charlie Dizon

Actor Carlo Aquino shared that he is “financially and emotionally” prepared to marry Charlie Dizon, although he’s contemplating on whether it will happen this year.

The revelation came during Pilipino Star Ngayon’s interview with Carlo at the Chinese New Year celebration hosted by Beautederm Corporation in Angeles, Pampanga.

In addition to his sentiments on marriage, Aquino was particularly cautious in expressing overwhelming happiness, stating, “Ayaw kong sabihing umaapaw eh kasi palaging meron pang magpapasaya sa’yo sa buhay na ito hangga’t hindi pa natatapos.”

It is worth noting that the former child actor starred in four films that topped the list of Netflix’s Philippines Today last year. These include Seasons, I Love Lizzy, Third World Romance, and Love You, Long Time.

Carlo continued, “Masaya kami ni Charlie. Nandoroon ako. Saka hindi ako, ‘wag ka masyadong excited’ kasi hindi pa tapos ‘yung buhay mo. May biglang manggugulat sa’yo diyan.”

In another report by PEP, Carlo was asked about whether discussions regarding marriage have taken place between them, to which he responded with a grin, saying, “Wala pa. Hindi ko pa alam ‘yan.”

The speculations intensified when observers noticed Charlie wearing a ring, leading some to assume it was an engagement ring. However, Carlo clarified, “Lagi naman ‘yung… tingnan niyo, ngayon. May suot din siya. Hindi galing sa akin yon.”

Charlie reportedly accompanied Carlo to the event but did not participate in photo opportunities related to his endorsement of the beauty product.

When asked if marriage is not a priority for them this year, Carlo hesitated briefly before responding, “This year? Let’s see. Tingnan natin”.

When asked about his choice of Charlie as a life partner, he affirmed, “Yes.”

Reflecting on when he realized that Charlie was the one for him, Carlo paused before saying, “Siguro day by day, hindi ko ine-expect na ganun. Pero sobrang… iba lang”.

Carlo praised Charlie’s qualities, describing her as someone who is “palaban” (resilient) and has a light and enjoyable demeanor. He highlighted her laughter as something special and emphasized their communication during both happy and challenging times.

“Palaban kasi, eh. Palaban sa tamang paraan,” he described his partner, before adding, “Oo, at saka ang gaan, ang sarap tumawa. Naririnig niyo naman ‘pag tumatawa. Saka pagka may problema, uupuan, pag-uusapan nang maayos.”

When asked about conflicts in their relationship, Carlo admitted, “Nag-aaway. Nag-aaway pero pag-uusapan nang maayos. ‘Yun naman, e. ‘Yun naman ang pinakaimportante”.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Aquino revealed that they have no elaborate plans due to the anticipated crowd and traffic. “Wala, eh. Ang dami kasing lumalabas, eh. Ang daming tao, ang traffic. Kesa ma-relax ka, mag-date, kaka-stress ‘yung traffic.”

Carlo confirmed their relationship last January 2023, after welcoming the new year together with his family in La Union.
