Suspect who killed Coleen Garcia’s step-aunt nabbed

Authorities have arrested the suspect who stabbed to death the sister of actress Coleen Garcia’s stepmom.

GMA News reported that the suspect identified as Art Tondo was nabbed in Mandaluyong City on Christmas Eve.

The autopsy of Coleen’s 29-year-old OFW step-aunt, Canice Minica Seming, showed she suffered 26 stab wounds.

“The number of stab wounds, magfi-fit siya dun sa ifa-file na complaint na murder,” Antipolo City chief of police,  PLt. Col. Ryan Manongdo,” said in an interview with GMA News.

Coleen earlier lamented the incident in a now-deleted Facebook post, saying it left the whole family devastated.

The actress shared in the same Facebook post that Tondo was her dad’s carpenter until her dad let him go because he found out about his alleged drug use.

Coleen added that Tondo’s former live-in partner continued to work as a nanny to her little sister and stepbrother.

“She (kasambahay) left him and blocked him because apparently he’d been constantly threatening her, even saying he plans to kill her seven children. He never threatened my family prior to what happened. Canice had just arrived at my dad’s house, and [Tondo] showed up looking for his partner, who was at our house at that time with my family,” read Coleen’s Facebook post.

Tondo admitted he was intoxicated when he committed the crime after he went looking for his ex live-in partner but ran into Seming who asked him to leave the house.“Nadala ng lasing ko. Dala ng lasing… Hinahanap ko asawa ko doon, eh wala. Bago pa dumating ‘yung biktima nandoon na po ako sa loob ng bahay kasi bukas po ‘yung side po nila sa kabilang daanan,” tondo was quoted as saying in a Pilipino Star Ngayon report.
