Faith Da Silva meets father for the first time in jail

Faith Da Silva has met her father, former actor Dennis Da Silva, for the first time after a visit to the jail.

Kapuso talent management arm Sparkle GMA Artist Center posted a video of Faith and her brother Silas’ heartwarming reunion with their father at the Muntinlupa City Jail.

“The best gift Faith received this Christmas isn’t wrapped in a box, but in the form of a tight embrace from her dad, former actor Dennis Da Silva!,” Sparkle wrote in an Instagram post.

On Instagram, Faith shared a photo of her with Silas and their dad, expressing gratitude to TV host Kim Atienza and Police General Gregorio Catapang for making their reunion happen.

This was the actress’ first meeting with her father after not seeing him for more than 20 years.

Dennis was sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guiilty of 15 counts of rape, and four counts of child abuse.

In a previous interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, Faith admitted getting ashamed of her father before.

“Kinahiya ko lang naman noon dahil hindi ko naiintidihan ko ano ‘yung mga nagyayari. Siyempre bata ako eh, sino ba namang gugustuhin na magkuwento ka sa mga classmates mo, ‘Ah, ‘yung dad ko is in jail.’ Who would want to say that? No one,” shared Faith.

The actress, however, said she learned to forgive her dad and made peace with her past.

Faith is set to star ad Flamarra in the upcoming Sang’gre: Encantadia Chronicles in 2024.
