Vice Ganda slams netizen’s claims about ‘breadwinner’ celebrities: ‘Never umasa sa’kin ang nanay ko’

Vice Ganda did not hesitate to correct a netizen on X claiming his mother depended on his showbiz career.

It all started in an X repost by a netizen who called out the statement recently made by Andrea Brillantes’ mother who took pride in her celebrity daughter’s accomplishments as a breadwinner.

“Mader, sending your kids to school and building them a house is YOUR responsibility. Hindi nakakaproud un na anak mo ang gumawa ng dapat ginawa mo! Now back to you, ikaw anong ambag mo???,” the netizen commented.

Another user, who asserted that they’re not a fan of Andrea, joined the discussion and supplemented the former’s opinion on breadwinner celebrities.

“Hindi ako fanney ni Blythe or kahit sinong artista.. pero kung yan ang punto mo, aba’y isali mo na lahat nang nanay ng mga artista na umasa sa kanila,” the netizen wrote.

The user then named celebrities including Vice Ganda, Francine Diaz, Kathryn Bernardo, and Bea Alonzo among others, whom they claimed were all “breadwinners”.

Almost a day after the comment was made, the Unkabogable Star took the time to correct their claims with his own story of his mother’s hard-earned work as an overseas worker to sustain their family.

“Ahhhhhhhh excuse me! Never umasa sakin ang nanay ko. Nagpakabayani sya sa ibang bansa para magkapagpadala sa amin sa Pinas at makaraos kami,” the It’s Showtime mainstay wrote.

“May ipon ang nanay ko. Wag mo syang isali sa kung anumang diskusyon nyo!,” he added.

Netizens expressed their support for the comedian and praised his effort to clarify the user.

“HUWAG SI MEME. HUWAG SIYA. ?,” a fan reacted.

“YES MOTHER! TELL THEM!!!,” said another.

“Ngayon na nga lang nakapagpahinga Nanay ni meme sa ilang taon na pagtatrabaho sa ibang bansa eh, kaya ngayon sobrang spoiled nya and I say dasurb! Sana nanood ka man lang ng recent vlogs nila hay!,” an X user wrote.

“Sige meme, basagin mo pangaralan mo, this is a scenario where think twice or more before you say it or research your facts before you post it, di kayo papalampasin ni meme ? pag nanay talaga pag uusapan wag nyo idadamay sa ganyan,” another netizen said.
