‘Ilagay niyo rin yung picture ko’: Sandara Park questions missing portrait in ABS-CBN’s hallway of stars

After six years, K-pop star Sandara Park has graced once again an episode of It’s Showtime.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, Sandara made a guest appearance in the Kapamilya variety program and treated the madlang people to a performance of her latest solo release Festival and the iconic song of her former K-pop girl group 2NE1’s I Am The Best.

She also did her own version of the trending It’s Showtime dance, Mini Miss U, together with the hosts.

The South Korean superstar expressed her excitement over her return to the show after many years.

“Alam niyo, sabi ng mga fans ko, last visit ko daw sa Showtime, 6 years ago. Hindi kasi ako nakapunta dahil sa COVID. So, I was really waiting for this moment na babalik ako sa Showtime,” Sandara said.

She emphasized her love for the country, “Mahal na mahal ko ang Pilipinas ‘e, at dito ako nanggaling di’ba? At lalo na dito sa ABS-CBN.”

The singer then commented to the network after noticing that her portrait was missing in ABS-CBN gallery of stars, “Pero nagtataka ako, bakit wala ‘yung picture ko sa wall sa labas? Nandun yung picture niyo, nakita ko, ang ganda.”

Eliciting laughter from hosts and audience, Sandara added, “Ilagay niyo rin ‘yung picture ko ah?”

Vhong Navarro joined the banter with a playful remark, “Nako, dinouble check pala ni Sandara.”

Her journey to local stardom in the Philippines began when she participated in ABS-CBN’s talent competition Star Circle Quest in 2004.

After establishing her showbiz career in the country, earning the moniker “Pambansang Krung Krung,” she later made her way back to South Korea in 2007 to join the renowned K-pop girl group, 2NE1.
