Kristel Fulgar reveals why hosting gig for Seo In Guk fanmeet got cancelled

Kristel Fulgar finally revealed the reason behind the last-minute cancellation of her supposed hosting gig for the Manila fan meeting of her ultimate idol, South Korean actor Seo In Guk.

An hour before In Guk’s fanmeet at the New Frontier Theater last Saturday, August 12, Kristel shocked fans after she announced that her hosting gig got cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstancences”.

Radio DJ and former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Kumunity season 10 housemate Karen Bordador eventually hosted the event.

The actress and content creator opened up on the unfortunate incident in a YouTube vlog released on Tuesday night.

According to Kristel, the fanmeet’s Korean technical director informed her all of a sudden that she would no longer be hosting the event due to her apparent lack of energy during the rehearsal.

Kristel explained that since it was a rehearsal, she was not used used to giving her 100-percent energy.

“Nag-eexpect ako na ipapaakyat ulit ako sa stage para mapakita ko ‘yung 100 percent [energy] na sinasabi ko pero hindi daw,” Kristel said in her vlog.

Kristel further shared that it was her first time accepting a hosting gig since she wanted to do it for her idol of 11 years.

“I know I’m not an expert in hosting but I know can connect with my co-fans,” she said.

“11 years na akong fan ni Seo In Guk so kahit hindi ko forte ang hosting tinanggap ko ‘to kasi tinitingnan ako as representative ng mga fans ni Seo In Guk.

“So hindi lang ako basta magiging host sa stage kundi magiging fan ako,” she added.

Kristel turned emotional as she offered her apologies to fans and fellow supporters who looked forward to seeing her onstage with the K-drama actor.

“Nahihiya ako sa mga taong nag-expect na ako ‘yung haharap sa kanila. I’m so sorry, guys,” she said.

Despite the turnout of events, Kristel said she was still honored and glad to meet the actor who starred in K-dramas such as Doom At Your Service, Café Minandang and Reply 1997.

The 27-minue vlog showed a glimpse of her stage rehearsal and one-on-one interaction with In Guk who showed concern and felt sorry over the incident.

Kristel also got take a couple of photos with In Guk, got his signature, and sang a duet of his hit song All For You.

“It’s truly an honor. I’m so happy today. I might not be hosting but it’s alright I’m glad to meet you,” she told In Guk.

Kristel later joined the audience in support of In Guk’s first ever fanmeet in the country.
