After almost four years of being together, Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde have officially tied the knot!
A report by ABS-CBN said the couple exchanged vows during a wedding ceremony at the Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges Chapel on Friday, July 28, 2023 — exactly a year after they got engaged.
The date, July 28, bears a significance in the couple’s relationship timeline. It was on July 28, 2013 when Maine first tweeted “Arjo cutie,” which according to fans was a move that “manifested” the actress’ future romance with the actor-politician.
Fast forward to July 28, 2018, the two would meet each other for the first time during a storycon for the film Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles.
Four years later, on July 28, 2022, Arjo finally popped the big question to Maine.
“My turn, I will marry you cutie,” read Arjo’s short and sweet caption of photos from their engagement.
The couple has been sharing prenup photos of their candidly fun moments at a theme park, including their rollercoaster ride, and indoor skydiving adventure.
Official photos from the wedding have yet to be released as the two have kept details of the event very private, although their latest joint Instagram post on Friday afternoon were showered with well wishes from their fans and fellow celebrities.
On Arjo’s Facebook page, his photos included a poem titled Cheers to Forever.
