Members of The Boyz wade through Philippine floodwaters

Is this the most “Pinoy-coded” experience a K-pop idol can have?

Two members of the South Korean boy group The Boyz, Eric and Sunwoo, were spotted by a fan wading through floodwaters during their short stay in the Philippines.

The 11-member group recently held their highly anticipated first-ever solo concert ZENERATION IN MANILA, on July 15, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. At the time, tropical depression Dodong brought rainfall to several areas in the country including Manila.

A 13-second video uploaded by online user @polaberryy, captured Sunwoo and Eric, also popularly known for their pairing name SunRic, having their authentic rainy Manila experience.

“[S]un[R]ic [M]anila boyz ??, lumulusong sa baha ??‍♂️,” the user wrote in the caption.

In the video, the members, in their comfortable clothes, shared an umbrella and could be seen preparing to walk across a shallow puddle of water.

Just like Manileños, Sunwoo and Eric raised their pant legs all the way up to their knees to avoid getting wet and proceeded to cross the street.

The OPM song Raining in Manila by Lola Amour was edited in as the background music to perfectly capture the vibe of the “Manila Boyz.”

The uploader also noted that the artists wore branded footwear to wade through the local puddle.

The now-viral video garnered over 1 million views and over 22,000 likes on Twitter.

Meanwhile, their fans, known as Deobis, were left amused at their idols’ “Pinoy-coded” experience.

“[S]obrang filo coded nung pagtaas ng pants akala mo hanggang tuhod yung baha ???,” a fan commented.

“[I] keep coming back to this cos like it’s the most [F]ilipino experience any kpop idol has ever had ?,” another user said.

“Not really that familiar with [T]he [B]oyz pero the rolling of the pants is very [P]inoy HAHAHAHA,” a netizen reacted.

This marked their second visit to Manila this year, following the group’s appearance at the K-Verse concert last April.

The Boyz is composed of Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, JuHaknyeon, Sunwoo, and Eric. The group is reportedly set to stage another comeback this August via a mini-album.
