American supermodel Gigi Hadid shared a photo dump of bikini photos with the caption “All’s well that ends well” following news of her release on bail. She was eariler arrested in Cayman Islands over illegal possession of marijuana, the US media reported.
On July 10, the 28-year-old model flew on a private jet from the US for a summer vacation to Cayman Islands and touched down at Owen Roberts International Airport where she went through the customs with her luggage.
E! News quoted a report from a news outlet based in Cayman Islands, Cayman Marl Road, that said Gigi and her friend, Leah Nicole McCarthy, were arrested on “suspicion of importation of Ganja and importation of utensils used for the consumption of ganja.”
Two days later, on Wednesday, July 12, the two appeared in Summary Court where they were formally charged. They pleaded guilty and were both fined $1,000 with no conviction recorded, Cayman Marl Road reported.
The Cayman Islands news source added that Gigi and her pal were reportedly staying at Palm Heights and left the Cayman Islands on July 15.
“Cannabis or ganja is illegal in the Cayman Islands, but the use of CDB oil is allowed for persons who have the requisite doctor’s certification to obtain it,” Cayman Marl Road stated.
It seemed that Gigi and her girlfriends still managed to enjoy their vacation despite their legal issues as seen in her recent photos uploaded on Instagram.
“Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island,” Gigi’s rep told E! News.
