22-year-old uploader Irish Vistan shared the heartwarming moment when her nephew, Zeus, bonds with their caretaker’s son on February 4, 2023 in Tarlac.
“All the things sa patag parang new sa kanila so we try to treat them outside and nasakto na ‘yung nephew ko ka-age niya and they became friends eventually nung pinasyal namin siya sa mall malapit sa amin,” Irish told the Philippine STAR during an interview.
“It was his first-time mag-ride ng sasakyan. Chine-check namin from time-to-time kung nahihilo siya, pero talagang magkatabi sila ng pamangkin ko, ine-encourage niya na “Uy, tingnan mo! Tingnan mo!” she added.
Zeus and Otep enjoyed each other’s company when they visited a mall in the province. Irish then decided to capture every wholesome moment of the two kids.
“We can see doon kay Otep na nahihiya-hiya pa siya. The world around him is really new, hindi siya sanay sa nakikita niya around him. And then pag-akyat namin, sakto may small arcade din. Ayun pinatry namin sa kanilang dalawa,” she recalled.
“Nung nag-grocery kami, he was like picking stuff for him like “Dala mo ‘to sa kapatid mo.” He was really just grabbing and grabbing ng snacks para sa kanya. “Dala mo sa bundok.” After namin mag-Jollibee, ang saya talaga nung ngiti niya sa video, makikita niyo super close na sila. Like sa simula, shy shy pa si Otep and then nung bandang patapos na ‘yung day, they’re really close na,” Irish said.
According to Irish, her family had some reservations on how Zeus would interact with Otep during their day out.
“They were really happy, concern kasi baka hindi marunong makipag-socialize ‘yung pamangkin ko. Kasi dinadala rin namin ‘yung pamangkin ko sa bundok and doon talaga siya nakaka-experience ng kalaro. So alam niya kung paano yung mundo rin ni Otep. He really welcomed Otep dito sa own understanding kung paano,” she said.
“Sa bahay kasi namin, wala kasi kaming mga kapitbahay na ka-age siya. So medyo uhaw rin siya sa friends, sa kalaro. Nakakatuwa kasi at five years old, sobrang winewelcome niya ‘yung mga tao niya sa paligid niya. And he’s really willing to share his own safe space [to his] new-found friend. He’s willing to share kung ano ‘yung meron siya sa friend niya,” Irish shared.
After witnessing the encounter between Zeus and Otep, Irish said that she had several realizations in life.
“Nakakataba lang sa puso like sobrang wholesome ng moment na ‘yon. Ang sarap sana ng mundo kung ganito lahat ang mindset. Pure love, intention, and friendship lang. People can take inspiration from it na… it takes small steps to be kind to other people,” she noted.
As of writing, the video has already garnered more than 1.3 million views on TikTok.
