Pen Medina grateful to Batang Quiapo lead star Coco Martin

Veteran star Pen Medina has nothing but words of gratitude to fellow actor Coco Martin for coming to his aid when he underwent spinal surgery.

Pen and Coco are set to star together in the upcoming Kapamilya series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo which will premiere on Monday, February 13.

In an interview, Pen shared how he would be brought to tears when speaking of the help Coco extended to him when he was in the hospital for his surgical treatment.

Na-operahan nga ako, dalawang buwan ako,” Pen was quoted as saying in an ABS-CBN report.

Apart from the financial aid for his medical expenses, Pen related that it was Coco who offered him to star in Batang Quiapo.

The 71-year-old actor noted that Coco knew that he lost work and income over the past two years due to the pandemic.

Prior to his successful operation in July last year, Pen’s family called for donations to support the treatment of the actor’s degenerative disc disease.

Pen will play the role of Marsing, father of Lovi Poe’s character Maria or Mokang in the series adaption of Fernando Poe Jr.’s hit film “Ang Batang Quiapo”.
