FEW DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS: Church choir serenades netizens with ‘random’ Christmas songs in Cebu

A Church choir in Cebu recently went viral on social media after serenading the online community with “random” Christmas songs.

Analin Bayo-Jabilles said that their group casually performs in different places after their rehearsals.

“Pagkatapos po ‘yun nung grand rehearsals kasi magko-concert po kami nun the following week. Wala lang po, Jam-jam lang po ‘yung samin. Hindi po namin inexpect na magviviral po ‘yun na madami pong makaka appreciate,” she told The Philippine STAR.

In the video, the group can be seen singing the Christmas song, “Carol of the Bells.”

On Tiktok, a choir member uploaded their jamming session with a caption “After eating Beef Pares, jam jam lang po kami, what a long Sunday, anyway excuse those notess haha ?? ?.”

Netizens were quick to react on the “random” performance of the Fidelis Choir.

The uploaded video on social media has already garnered more than 2.5 million views.

“’Yung naka ready na ‘yung P10 pambigay sa na ngangaroling kaso biglang ganito ‘yung kanta!” a netizen commented.

“Ang sarap pakingan, galing!” another netizen said.

Analin said that their group is very thankful for the positive feedback from the online community.


“Na-o-overwhelm po, maganda sa pakiramdam, proud po sa sarili namin, sa group po namin. Sa simbahan lang po kami nagse-serve ‘yun lang po pamparelax na kumakanta kami pagkatapos kumain,” she said.

“Na ha-hype po kami kasi after how many years, Before pandemic. Usually kumakanta po kami sa mga hotels, malls every Christmas season. [Nung] pandemic na po wala na po. Tapos ngayon lang [kaya] kahit saan kumakanta kami,” Analin noted.
