LOOK: Zac Efron undergoes total body transformation for upcoming film role

Zac Efron has gone through a total body transformation for his role in an upcoming movie.

The 35-year-old was spotted sporting a bulked-up physique and a bowl haircut wig while on set for the biopic film The Iron Claw in Louisiana.

Photos from Mega showed the High School Musical star with his visible muscle gain, tanned and topless look, wearing a towel wrapped around his waist.

The American actor is set to star as professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich in Iron Claw, which, according to Deadline, is based on the true story of the Von Erich wresting family.

“The film follows the rise and fall of the family dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day,” Deadline reported.

Meanwhile, Zac earlier opened up about his preparation for the role in a previous interview with Men’s Health, sharing that he didn’t have to go through the same intensive training regimen he had for his Baywatch role in 2017.

“That Baywatch look, I don’t know if that’s really attainable. There’s just too little water in the skin. Like, it’s fake; it looks CGI’d. And that required Lasix, powerful diuretics, to achieve. So I don’t need to do that. I much prefer to have an extra, you know, 2 to 3 percent body fat,” Zac was quoted as saying.

“I started to develop insomnia, and I fell into a pretty bad depression for a long time. Something about that experience burned me out. I had a really hard time recentering,” Zac said of the effects of training for his Baywatch figure.

Written and directed by Sean Durkin, the film also stars Lily James, Jeremy Allen White, Maura Tierney and Harris Dickinson.
