Apo captures heartwarming moment with her lola with dementia

Uploader Janna Joshelle Ignacio Parel was very happy to capture a “unique and special” moment with her Lola Suzette on September 23, 2022.

Lola Suzette was diagnosed with dementia in 2019. She would sometimes have a hard time communicating and remembering small details.

“There are times na she can remember people, there are times na wala. So I decided to keep on taking videos and photos of her, especially during those days na ok ‘yung pakaramdam niya.  She’s ok happy siya,” Janna told The Philippine STAR.

“Na-notice ko din sa kanya ery Bihira na lang ‘yung magsabi siya ng I love you. So very important ‘yung moment na na-capture ko na she said I love you back. Kasi I’m always the one verbalizing na Lola, I love you, I love you. Palangga kita,” she added.

“Nakaka emotional siya. There will come a time na she’ll leave me. Parang I’m starting to prepare myself na she’s getting older, so atleast hindi ko na  i-regret ‘yung katulad sa lolo ko na wala akong videos na ganyan. With my lola, I can still replay it ay nag I love you siya sakin. Even if she doesn’t say as it often, I know na mahal niya ako,” Janna said.

Janna assured her Lola Suzette that she will always take care of her whatever happens. She also encouraged others to make some time for their parents and grandparents.

“I won’t be tired of taking care of her. I know no na we are super busy with our own life, our plans, our own dreams and goals but try as much as possible to allocate time, for your oldies. for your grandparents for your parents because you never know when their time on Earth with us ends. Para we will avoid having any regrets,” she stressed.

Kindhearted teacher takes care of his student’s baby during exam

College teacher Andres Sequito from Catbalogan City, Samar earned praises online after a video of him carrying his student’s baby during an exam went viral on social media.

At that time, Andres’ only goal was to help his student so she can focus on the exam.

“It’s a right thing to do naman siguro sa mga teachers, na, to help them. sa mga bata.Hindi naman nila kasalanan ‘yan. At least, nakikita mo na pursigido sila mag-aral. matapos, para atleast  Pagdating ng panahon, they could become independent and they could help their own families,” he said.

Andres hopes that through this video, fellow educators will realize how they can help their students who are in the same scenario.

“Sa mga kapwa kong guro, be an inspiration na lang siguro sa kanila. Kung meron mang tao na nilu-look up nung mga students, siguro ikaw ‘yun. Kaya your kind gestures and simple acts of love could mean so much siguro sa kanila,” he noted.
