Anthony Jennings wants to continue his studies: ‘Hindi ako marunong magbasa, magsulat’

Rising star Anthony Jennings opened up about not being able to finish his studies as his biggest regret in life.

The young actor made the revelation during the third episode of Rise Artists Studio’s Boys After Dark video podcast with co-hosts Aljon Mendoza, Gello Marquez, Jae Miranda and Markus Paterson.

“Well, oo regret ko siya pero at the same hind ko naman sobrang kasalanan, mga 50-50 siya,” said Anthony while admitting he feels regretful about being unable to go to high school due to “personal problems and personal responsibility”.

Anthony said it came to a point where he had to learn how to read by himself when he was starting out in the showbiz industry.

“Hindi ako nag-aral. Elementary lang. As in hindi ako marunong magsulat. Pumunta ako ng (ABS-CBN) noon hindi ako marunong magsulat.

“Ako pa ‘yung nagturo sa sarili kong magbasa. Hindi talaga ako nag-aral, wala akong masyadong alam. ‘Di talaga ako marunong magsulat, as in like ang pangit ng handwriting ko,” shared Anthony.

Anthony wished he had the opportunity to go to school, but had to work different jobs to provide for his family.

“Sana (nakapag-aral) kaso hindi ako nabigyan ng opportunity, ‘yun ‘yung at a young age nag-start na akong mag-work na kung anu-ano ang ginawa ko sa buhay ko.

The Rise artist, nevertheless, believes he can continue his studies when time comes.

“Pero alam ko nasa top of the mind ko pa rin na mag-aral ako after everything, after anong mangyari,” said an emotional Anthony who’s sending his younger siblings to school to not suffer the same fate as his.

Anthony first appeared onscreen as a commercial model before starring in TV shows such as Make It With You, The House Arrest of Us and films Hello, Love, Goodbye, and Love At First Stream.
