Aicelle Santos, siblings seek financial aid for mother in coma

Singer-theater actress Aicelle Santos and her siblings are seeking help as their mother suffered cardiac arrest that left her in a coma for three weeks now.

In a Facebook post, Aicelle announced that they have set up a GoFundMe account to appeal to generous hearts to help raise funds for the hospitalization of their 60-year-old mother.

‘Mommy remains on a mechanical ventilator in the ICU and has not regained consciousness since her cardiac arrest three weeks ago,” Aicelle said about her mom’s current health condition.

Aicelle’s brother, Aaron, detailed in The GoFundMe campaign titled “Mom Fought For Us, Now We Fight For Her”, that their mom’s hospital expenses amounts to nearly one million pesos each week as she has to remain in the intensive care unit.

While their mom’s vitals are stable, Aaron said that she remains unconscious and intubated.

Aicelle and her siblings are hoping to reach their four million peso target for the first month of their mom’s treatment at a hospital in Manila.

“She has been showing signs of progress – and we have been clinging to these as sources of hope,” wrote Aicelle in the GoFundMe page.

“But every day that she remains in the ICU means a sharp spike in her hospital bill, and it is expected to reach an amount far more than my family’s capacity to pay,” she added.

Aicelle first sought prayers online for her mom in an Instagram post last August, revealing that the latter is in critical condition.
