Rita Gaviola, more popularly known as Badjao Girl, admitted getting hurt by the criticism following her revelation that she’s now a mother.
Earlier this month, the 19-year-old surprised fans and followers after she shared that she had given birth to a baby girl.
While netizens congratulated and sent their well-wishes to Rita, there are also those who took a swipe at her for being a teenage mom.
“Marami silang sinasabi about ‘bobo,’ ganyan, ‘sinayang mo ‘yung career mo’, ‘inuna mo pa ‘yung kalandian,” Rita recalled the hurtful words she got from naysayers online, during her guesting at Eat Bulaga’s Bawal Ang Judgemental segment.
The first-time mom also pleaded to spare her baby from the bashing.
Rita, who earlier stated that being a young would not hinder her aspirations in life, said she would have to put her beauty pageant dreams on hold to focus on her child.
“Sa ngayon parang ‘yung mundo ko, sa kanya na lang umiikot, sa kanya na lahat,” she said.
