Pia Wurtzbach recently revealed that she’s about to try a new experience — her first-ever marathon.
The Miss Universe 2015 shared on an Instagram post that she has been training for the New York City marathon since February of this year.
“It’s only 3 months before race day – and these were my thoughts before I started training and got serious about running cos I was never a runner before, and I couldn’t even stand doing any sort of cardio then. But I’ve always looked at runners with a lot of respect,” she wrote.
The 32-year-old said she made the decision to join the marathon when she had COVID-19 at the beginning of the year.
She shared: “So I took the chance! I joined the registration (not under a brand or org this time), made a donation and waited… and I got in!
“It didn’t take me 3 tries this time! Yay! My ticket to my first ever marathon. ‘Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Athlete from the Philippines! Na ba to?! Chos lang.”
Pia added the since she started running, she began to feel, sleep, and manage her stress better.
“I’ll be sharing more about my running journey as race day gets closer. Wish me luck,” she promised her fans.
On her Instagram post, she shared that she is now in Italy after exploring Greece with her hubby-to-be Jeremy Jauncey.
