‘We clicked right away’: Diego Loyzaga admits he’s now dating Franki Russel

Days after saying he and Franki Russell are “not a thing”, Diego Loyzaga revealed he is now dating the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate.

The 27-year-old actor earlier told entertainment columnist Dolly Ann Carvajal in a column published May 28 that he’s not dating Franki, saying, “I just want to be single for now.”

Rumors about the two sparked after Franki posted photos of them together getting cozy when she greeted him on his birthday last May 21. Franki eventually deleted the said Instagram post.

In an interview on Monster Radio RX 93.1’s All Out segment with Rico Robles on Monday, Diego opened up about his relationship status with Franki.

“Well, you know what, I’m a hypocrite. I said I wanted to focus on myself but, I guess these things you don’t expect it eh. It really just comes along.

“And ever since meeting up with her and hanging out with her, it hasn’t stopped. We really did click. So, I would definitely say that right now we’re dating,” Diego admitted.

Diego also explained why he initially said they were not together at that time.

“We’ve known each other for 10 days, we’re not a thing. Who am I to say that… I can’t give a label that we’re something right now, ‘Kami na’ ganun?

“I can’t. Ang kapal naman ng mukha ko kung sabihin ko, ‘Kami na.’

“I haven’t asked her. We’ve just been seeing each other. But, noon ‘yun, iba ngayon.”

Diego, however, clarified that they are not yet a couple, but are “getting there.”

“We got along, we clicked right away. We had so much in common,” the actor recalled his first meeting with Franki on the set of the TV game show Rolling In It Philippines.

Diego’s last known relationship was with Barbie Imperial. The two broke up in December shortly after celebrating their first anniversary as a couple, but remained as good friends.
