Ang Probinsyano stars pay tribute to Susan Roces

Tributes poured in for screen legend Susan Roces, once dubbed as the “Queen of Philippine Movies,” after news broke about her death on Friday evening, May 20. She was 80 years old.

Susan’s co-stars in the ABS-CBN primetime drama, FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano, took to social media to mourn the passing of veteran actress who played Lola Flora to lead character Cardo Dalisay, played by Coco Martin. The series was adapted from the film of Susan’s late husband, Fernando Poe Jr, also known as Da King.

Sharing black and white photos of them together, Coco expressed his gratitude to Susan for the love and support she gave him. 

“Mahal na mahal kita Lola. Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng biyaya, pag gabay at pag aruga. Nabuo ako, dahil sa pagmamahal mo. Hindi kita makakalimutan. Nasa puso at nasa isip kita habangbuhay. Mahal po kita!,” wrote Coco in an Instagram post. 

Julia Montes uploaded photos of the several handwritten letters Susan wrote her and the unforgettable and advices and stories she heard from the late actress.

Yassi Pressman posted a video of Susan sharing laughs with some cast of Ang Probinsyano and wrote: “I love you Tita Su.. ?.”

John Arcilla, meanwhile, uploaded a two minute video of him along with other Kapamilya artists serenading Susan in an episode of ASAP. 

In a lengthy Instagram post, Bianca Manalo remembered Susan’s thoughtfulness, and how she would bring her treats during tapings.

“Hinding-hindi ko po makakalimutan lahat ng pinagsamahan natin. Ikaw parati ang kausap at kinukulit ko kapag pagod at puyat na tayo.”

Albert Martinez also made a montage video of his photos together with Susan, writing in the caption, “You’ll be missed Tita Susan”.

Other celebrities such John Prats, Kim, Chiu, Bea Alonzo, Angel Locsin, also honored the Queen of Philippine movies, looking back at the moments they spent with the late actress, and the memories of her that they’ll keep forever. They also sent message of condolences to the bereaved family of Susan.
