Furmom shares heartbreaking story after one of her dogs tested positive for distemper

This furmom from Bulacan couldn’t help but become emotional after one of her 20 dogs tested positive for distemper.

In a video uploaded on Tiktok on April 6, Kyzha Penetrante breaks down while sharing what happened to her dogs.

“Hi guys! Ako si Kyzha, ‘yung fur-mom ng 20 dogs. First time ko lang ‘to gagawin sa TikTok, sorry lang po sobrang emotional ko lang kasi sobrang natatakot po ako na baka magka-outbreak ng distemper sa 20 dogs ko po,” she said in the video.

“’Yung 19 dogs ko is still under observation, pero kasi nakitaan ko sila ng a little bit signs ng mga sinabi ng doktor na symptoms ng distemper po. To be honest po, kinakabahan po ako sobra kasi what if mahawaan ‘yung iba, hindi ko po talaga kaya. Sobrang mahal ko po ‘yung mga aso ko and I ask for your prayers po,” she added.

Distemper is a highly contagious viral disease of dogs. It is incurable and often fatal.

Kyzha said her eight-month-old aspin, Rambo, was the first to experience distemper symptoms. Her family immediately brought Rambo to the vet and they decided to isolate the rest of her dogs to prevent a possible outbreak.

Kind-hearted individuals helped Kyzha with the huge expenses at the dog clinic.

“Takot na takot ako dahil ang laki ng chance na ubusin ng sakit na ito ang mga dogs ko na sobrang hirap for me because I treat them as my own children. I posted the video because I really need prayers talaga to overcome this big problem na dumaan sa’min. Plus also di din naman po ako tumanggi sa mga nag-offer ng help sa’min financially because I really need to boost the immune system of my 19 dogs para di na sila mahawaan pa, which it could cost a lot of money,” Kyzha recalled.

Luckily, her other dogs were safe from the virus.

“As of the moment and thank God wala naman po nahawa sa mga dogs ko, we are still boosting the immune system of my 19 dogs and they had another vaccine to ensure na sana di na talaga sila mahawaan or they have extra protection sa sakit na distemper,” she shared.

However, Rambo didn’t make it. He passed away a day after battling distemper. It was a heartbreaking moment for Kyzha.

Netizens sympathized with Kyzha after her dog crossed the rainbow bridge.

“This really made me cry. Fur parents can relate,” a netizen commented.

‘I’m so sorry for your loss. Nakakadurog naman ng puso,” another netizen said.

“My dogs helped me to open my eyes on what is the real purpose of my life. I want to become the voice of those voiceless creatures. I also want to help the stray animals and spread awareness to other people that these little creatures our God made deserve to have a second chance in life, to feel that they have their own home and to receive all the love and care that they deserve,” she said.

Kyzha said that she is using TikTok as a platform to raise awareness about aspins.

“I used tiktok as my platform to show appreciation kung gaano ko kamahal ung mga dogs ko kase to be honest di common ung magalaga ng 20 dogs which 18 of them are all aspin sobrang bihira or onti lang talaga yung mga taong mahilig sa aspin, or kaya ituring sa kanila ay parang anak kase common perception sa aspin ay it’s just a guard dog which I used tiktok to show other people those aspins are the same with other imported breed dogs where aspins are also deserve to be loved and cared,” she said.
