Gladys Guevarra hits Sharon Cuneta over controversial reaction to Salvador Panelo singing her song

Gladys Guevarra had this reaction to Megastar Sharon Cuneta who rebuked senatorial aspirant Salvador Panelo for singing her hit song Sana’y Wala ng Wakas at a campaign sortie.

Panelo, however, clarified in a statement that he sang the song in honor of his late son who had Down Syndrome, and stressed that he was “not trying to get elected by singing it.”

The former chief presidential legal counsel, who called himself a Sharonian, also noted that he got the permission of copyright owner Viva Records to sing the song.

Sharon has since taken down her Instagram post calling out Panelo, posting a quote that said: “From now on good vibes only”.

In a Facebook post, Gladys showed support to Panelo after being told by Sharon, “do not mess with the classic”, and forbidding him to use the song in campaigns.

“Bilang may pinsan at pamangkin akong may Down Syndrome, may pamangkin din ako at may anak akong may Autism sinasaluduhan at nire-respeto ko si Senator Panelo hindi sa kahit anu pa mang political reasons, pero sa pagiging amazing father nya,” wrote Gladys on Facebook.

Gladys then expressed her dismay over Sharon whom she used to idolize before.

“Nakakapanghinayang lang, at tama naman din yung isang nabasa ko. Sayang yung ilang dekadang binuo mo at pinaka ingatang magandang imahe, sinira mo lang sa iisang nakakaidiring post at negative reaction mo sa ginawang pag awit ni Senator Panelo sa kanta na sinasabi mong dapat ipinaalam sayo,” said Gladys.

“I used to have so much respect sayo Mega, bilang mang aawit din ako.Ngayon, malinaw pa sa mineral water na nakita ng lahat ang tunay mong ugali,”  she added.

Gladys also “mocked” Sharon in a separate Facebook post, calling her to sing her song Sasakyan Kita with the Boxers and K Brosas: “Gosh! Di ka namin maSAKYAN teh!”. The comedienne-actress received criticisms from Sharon’s fans just the same over the comment.
