In every group of friends, there is always that one person who couldn’t join get-togethers because of their strict parents.
But these high school buddies were able to convince their friend’s mom by doing a PowerPoint presentation last December 8, 2021.
Uploader Amanda Maxine Martinez said that their group decided to create a pitch deck and presented it online to the mother of their friend, Anaya.
Amanda said their group was only formed during the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So when they planned the reunion, they wanted everyone to be there.
“Everyone pitched in to make the PPT content. Then noong gabi na, PPT was done then pinresent na namin,” Amanda said.
She recalled that when they planned the gathering, Anaya initially decided not to ask permission from her mom.
“Ayaw na magpaalam ni Anaya sa parents niya kasi alam na niyang hindi siya papayagan since may COVID. Pero halos lahat pinayagan na so hindi kami pumayag na hindi siya makakasama,” she recalled.
Last December, the high school students decided to present a PowerPoint deck to Anaya’s mother, Analie.
They were like presenting a thesis, complete with introduction, sources, and even a Q&A portion.
The presentation included all the details of their gala along with their vaccination details to assure that they are protected against COVID-19.
“Most of us were kinakabahan kasi baka magalit ‘yung parents ni Anaya pero kinapalan na namin mukha namin. Some even turned off their cams kasi nahiya kami,” Amanda stressed as they were really eager to get the approval of Anaya’s mother.
Analie reiterated that she didn’t think that the girls would go that far just to convince her. “Nagulat ako kasi I don’t expect na ‘yun ang presentation nila. Kasi as per Bianca’s email subject title is thesis presentation. Then Anaya told me na meron lang ipresent si Bianca for me to listen lang. I thought she just need my thoughts about their thesis or just to present and just need an audience to listen for her thesis presentation.”
“I was surprised when I saw lots of her classmates in the Google Meet. I was amazed when they presented and they are ready. They have all the answers to my possible question na pwede ko itanong sa kanila,” Analie added.
After the presentation, Analie allowed her daughter to join her high school friends for their get-together last December 10, 2021
