‘Not Chinito’: Yeng Constantino reveals song inspired by Ryan Bang

Following their shocking revelations about their romantic feelings in the past, Yeng Constantino clarified that Ryan Bang was not the inspiration behind her hit song Chinito.

The two set the social media abuzz after their confessions about their “almost” relationship more than a decade ago–with Ryan assuming that Yeng had no interest in him, while the latter thought he already gave up waiting on him.

In the January 28 episode of It’s Showtime’s Tawg ng Tanghalan, Ryan revealed how he used to date Yeng in the past but put it to a stop after thinking that she was not into him.

Yeng, on the other hand, admitted that the move made her sad, but clarified that she never turned Ryan down.

Ryan then apologized for “ghosting” Yeng at the time and felt glad that they were able to talk over the matter and find closure after all those years.

Ryan and Yeng have since become a hot topic online, with some netizens thinking that Yeng’s popular song Chinito was about Ryan.

Yeng, however, made it clear that a song of hers took “hugot” from her dating experience with Ryan and it’s not Chinito.

“Actually po ang Chinito sumulat lalaki, si Jed Dumawal, ang aking kaibigan. Chinita ‘yan dati, nung narinig ko, sabi ko ‘ang ganda gusto kong kantahin’.Pero may isang song na medyo pinaghugutan talaga ng mga pinagdaanan namin (ni Ryan),” shared Yeng.

It’s Showtime co-hosts then urged Yeng to sing her song B.A.B.A.Y.

The song, which conveys the many ways of saying “goodbye” to someone instead of just disappearing, holds  the lyrics:

Parang naglaho ang nakaraan

Pati lahat ng alaala

Pwede mo naman akong i-text

Pwede ka rin namang tumawag

Pwede rin namang ipasabi kay manong ogag

Pero bigla kang nawala

Para kang naging bula (plook)

‘Yun nawala

Bigla kang nawala

Sana nagpasabi ka man lang

Hindi gan’to wala akong alam

Ang dali kayang magsabi ng babay

Ang dali kayang magsabi ng babay

Ang dali kayang magsabi ng babay

B-A-B-A-Y
