Janella Salvador has had the Valentina connection long before she even got the antagonist role in ABS-CBN’s TV series adaptation of Darna.
The Kapamilya actress recently took to Instagram to introduce and share snaps of her flaunting her new pet–a baby snake.
“Hello, world. Meet Versace, my 5 month old baby girl. ?,” Janella captioned the photos.
When the 23-year-old was declared as the one who will portray the nemesis of Darna, played by Jane De Leon, Janella was asked if she’s ready to touch snakes for her new role in the superhero series.
“Sanay na ako sa ahas, kayang-kaya ko ‘yan!” Janella quipped during the live Valentina reveal last November.
Janella then related that she actually has a baby snake she bought from a friend after she got the role of Valentina.
“Alam niyo ba guys meron actually akong akong alagang ahas. She’s my new baby. I actually brought her today, pero nagtatago siya ayaw niyang lumabas. Her name is Versace,” Janella shared.
Janella decided to name her pet after the luxury fashion brand Versace which has the snake-haired Greek mythology figure Medusa’s head as its logo.
“It’s a funny story actually. Matagal ko nang gustong magkaroon ng snake and meron kaming kakillala who was selling his snake. Sabi ko, if makuha ko ‘yung Valentina role, itutuloy ko na. So I did,” she added.
Helmed by director Chito S. Roño, Darna: The TV Series is slated for a 2022 release.
