Pinoy kid heads to America’s Got Talent semifinals

The 10-year-old Filipino kid Peter Rosalita has made it to the semifinals of the reality show America’s Got Talent.

The Abu Dhabi-born singer once again earned a standing ovation from the judges after singing his own rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing in the competition’s quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and Sofia Vergara were all praises for Peter’s spectacular performance.

“You are amazing! You are absolutely amazing. You were talking about how happy you are when you sing. You make me so happy when I sit here hearing you sing. You are so dapper,” said Heidi, adding how she was Whitney’s biggest fan and felt how Peter made the late singer proud.

Sofia, meanwhile, lauded Peter’s great vocal skills: “You’re so tiny but you have this voice that’s unbelievable. The way you commanded the stage tonight was breathtaking.”

“You are great, adorable. I love your suit. I love your style. What a professional. You are able to sing right through. The guy dropped a whole bag of confetti by accident and you still sang through,” added Howie.

Simon also can’t help gush over Peter’s talent, but advised him to chose a song “that doesn’t feel like your mom has chosen it”

“Because you’re so good, so talented. I want to hear you do something younger next time. But don’t get me wrong. That was a fantastic performance,” said Simon.

Peter previously wowed the judges, audience members, as well as Celine Dion’s team with his performance of All By Myself in the America’s Got Talent audition round.
