“Philippines, it’s been a hell of a ride. I’ll see you on the next one.”
Samantha Lo made headlines after facing an issue with her passport on the way to Venezuela for the Miss Grand International 2019 pageant. She was deported from France due to her fake Philippine passport.
According to Samantha, her local organizer failed to equip her with the proper transit visa to complete her trip. Later on, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. denied her claims against them, saying her passport was obtained from a fixer.
She took to Instagram to share her sentiments following her loss at the competition. The country’s bet failed to secure a spot in the Top 20.
“Thoughts and feelings that barge into my head and everyday like uninvited guests making themselves at home and turning everything upside down and scattered in the process,” she said, admitting she fears becoming a failure.
“It is safe to say that thousands know the story of what happened to me along my journey to the crown but only a handful know the thoughts and feelings I experience everyday.
Despite her negative feelings and fears, she thanked those who have made her feel that she is loved.
“Physical people, from around the world, warmly embracing me with words of kindness. Letting me know that I am not doing this alone, that I am loved and I have inspired, that I am special. To these people I want to say thank you for your love and compassion, you have inspired me to keep fighting. I am the product of your butterfly effect,” she said.
