Diego Loyzaga just went “Instagram official” with Barbie Imperial to welcome the year 2021.
On New Year’s Day, the 25-year-old actor revealed his relationship status with the 22-year-old actress with a sweet photo of them embracing each other by the beach.
“Happy new year to us ? Thanks for making the end of my 2020 memorable. Let’s gooo 2021!! :),” wrote Diego on Instagram.
The couple photo appeared to have been taken at a resort in Bohol.
It’s not clear when their relationship started but Barbie first hinted at it last December with a TikTok video titled “Single or Taken?”
Meanwhile, Diego’s mom Teresa Loyzaga showed her support for the new couple with a comment: “Happy looks so good on both of you!”
Sunshine Cruz, ex-wife of Diego’s father Cesar Montano and Barbie’s Bagong Umaga co-star, also reacted, “You both deserve to be happy! Happy New Year Diegs and my beautiful Cai.”
Barbie, on the other hand, had since opened up on her relationship with Diego.
“Totally unexpected to fall for someone I thought I’d be just friends with forever but I’m really happy to have found both love & friendship with this one.
“Thank you for making me happy & feel loved. Thank you for everything that you do to make me feel the love I deserve. So thankful for you, thank God for you,” she said.
Dating rumors began in November after they were spotted dining out together and seen having sweet interactions on Instagram.
Diego’s last known relationship was with Sofia Andres while Barbie was previously linked to her Araw Gabi co-star JM De Guzman.
