On their 10th wedding anniversary, Robin Padilla looked back on the three different times he married Mariel Rodriguez.
On Wednesday, the veteran actor shared on his social media accounts that a decade ago, he and the TV host exchanged “I do’s” in Islam rites, a Born Again Christian ceremony and an Igorot wedding. There are, however, two more wedding rites that Robin wants to marry his wife in.
Along with a photo from their first wedding day on August 19, 2010 in front of the Taj Mahal in New Delhi, India, Robin expressed gratefulness for all the prayers that made their union withstand people who wished they wouldn’t last.
“Una tayong kinasal sa Islam Alhamdulillah, sumunod sa Born Again at sa Igorot. Kulang pa tayo ng Catholic at Civil rights in shaa Allah. Lahat ng blessing at panalangin ay ating ipinagpapasalamat bilang panlaban natin sa mga malalapit at malalayo sa atin na nais tayong mabigo at magkahiwalay,” he said.
Robin said he’s hoping for the opportunity to be able to tie the knot in “all the wedding rites” they’ve been dreaming of. “Panalangin ko na mabiyayaan pa tayo ng buhay at lakas para matupad pa natin ang lahat ng mga wedding rights na ating pinangarap. Tunay na walang tatalo sa adrenaline high ng pag ibig at kasal every second of it is worship to the Almighty creator.
“Thank you my babe sa 10 taon na pagiging kapitan ng aking barko without your sailing patience matagal na akong na abandoned ship… maraming maraming salamat @marieltpadilla,” he ended.
In a separate post, Robin recalled their whirlwind courtship that led to their 10 years of togetherness. “Ipagpatawad mo minahal kita agad. Ipagpatawad mo Magmula noon hanggang ngayon na 10 taon na tayo ay patuloy pa rin kitang iniibig. Ipagpatawad mo kung hihingin ko sa Nagiisang Panginoong maylikha ang marami pang taon sa piling mo para kitay mahalin at ibigin pa.”
Mariel, on the other hand, noted their anniversary with a short but sweet post: “A decade with you ? happy anniversary @robinhoodpadilla 10years ? and a long road ahead. Mahal kita ?.”
Robin met Mariel on the noontime variety show Wowowee on ABS-CBN where she was a mainstay and he was a guest host for two weeks.
