Kim Chiu donates food packs, P300K from Bawal Lumabas merchandise profits

After a rollercoaster of events in Kim Chiu’s life since her Bawal Lumabas fiasco, the actress managed to bounce back by turning her accidental song into a charity drive.

In May, she released her limited-edition Bawal Lumabas t-shirts, proceeds of the merchandise, she said, will be used for COVID-19 efforts while a portion will be donated to Shop and Share’s fundraiser for mass testing efforts.

Almost a month after launching her merchandise, Kim finally shared that her initiative was able to donate food packages to 1,500 families and P300,000 to Shop and Share.

“Thank you po sa lahat ng sumuporta sa #bawallumabasmerch, we were able to give food packages sa 1,500 families and 300 thousand pesos for mass testing donated to shop and share,” she said in an Instagram post.

Last week, Kim personally helped transport group PISTON in distributing relief goods to jeepney drivers whose livelihoods were affected by the quarantine.
