Bea Alonzo opens up on how grief pushed her to help those in need

-

On Tuesday, actress Bea Alonzo took to social media to share how grief over losing a loved one has pushed her to continue helping those in need.

“I recently lost a very close relative, hindi madali, mabigat sa dibdib,” she said.

While mourning the death of a relative, her friend and co-founder of their charity drive, Rina Navarro, sent her a video from a TV Patrol report on jeepney drivers who have resorted to begging for money.

The jeepney drivers, she said, have lost their source of income because of the pandemic.

“Minsan kapag mabigat ang loob mo at pakiramdam mo, pinagsakluban ka ng mundo, may magpapaalala sayo na may pwede kang gawin para may magbago,” she said.

In her Instagram post, she shared photos of what seemed to be a relief operation for the jeepney drivers affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

Early May, the Kapamilya star along with her friends in their I AM Hope Org charity drive raised over P6M for the benefit of healthcare workers and communities in need.

In just a month, their group was able to reach out to 27 hospitals and 17 communities in the country.
